Renter delinquencies up; child poverty near high

Two new reports raise concerns about the state of low income Minnesotans as the recession continues:

  • The Minnesota Housing Partnership‘s quarterly 2×4 Report shows that renter delinquencies were up again this quarter, with nearly a quarter of renter households behind on rent.
  • The Children’s Defense Fund Minnesota‘s annual Kid’s Count report details the “toxic stress” experienced by the 140,000 Minnesota children who live in poverty.
