Tenant Bill of Rights clears procedural hurdle in the Minnesota Senate; passage likely in the next few days!

Minnesota Senate Chambers

Today, the Minnesota Senate met as a “Committee of the Whole” and considered Senate File 2595, the Minnesota Tenant Bill of Rights.  On nearly a unanimous voice vote, the Senate recommended the bill to pass.  The formal (and final) vote could happen as soon as Thursday.

The House of Representatives process does not require meeting as a Committee of the Whole before the actual vote.  It may consider and vote on the Tenant Bill of Rights as early as tomorrow.

A conference committee will be required to work out minor differences between the House and Senate legislation.
