At last count, 8 Public Policy Interns (giving 165 hours each week) will be helping HOME Line:
- Do research on what we might add to the Tenant Bill of Rights for the 2011 Legislative Session. This will include an online survey that anyone can participate in.
- Connect one-on-one with tenants to ask them what policies they’d want and advocate for.
- Draft materials that can be given to low-income tenants, so they know what their new rights are … COMING SOON.
- Compile an “ABCs Guide to Affordable Housing” (this guide will be for regular folks, not the already-a-housing-expert)
- Work with tenants who want to ask candidates running for state office: “What will you do to help low-income tenants next legislative session?”
- Do outreach to other advocacy organizations to see how HOME Line’s work for tenant rights’ compliments their policy goals.
Thanks to our great Public Policy team: Emma, Dana, Sam, Tim, Caitlin, Carla, Imant, and Brian.
