HOME Line’s Public Policy Department is swarming with activity this summer.

by Michael Dahl, Public Policy Director on 4 June 2010

At last count, 8 Public Policy Interns (giving 165 hours each week) will be helping HOME Line:

  1. Do research on what we might add to the Tenant Bill of Rights for the 2011 Legislative Session.  This will include an online survey that anyone can participate in.
  2. Connect one-on-one with tenants to ask them what policies they’d want and advocate for.
  3. Draft  materials that can be given to low-income tenants, so they know what their new rights are … COMING SOON.
  4. Compile an “ABCs Guide to Affordable Housing” (this guide will be for regular folks, not the already-a-housing-expert)
  5. Work with tenants who want to ask candidates running for state office:  “What will you do to help low-income tenants next legislative session?”
  6. Do outreach to other advocacy organizations to see how HOME Line’s work for tenant rights’ compliments their policy goals.

Thanks to our great Public Policy team:  Emma, Dana, Sam, Tim, Caitlin, Carla, Imant, and Brian.
