On March 10th, HOME Line hosted another COVID-19 webinar—the recording is further below. This week we were joined by guest speaker Margaret Kaplan, President of the Housing Justice Center, to discuss a new set of local ordinances that go into effect in the City of Saint Paul beginning March 1, 2021. We also provided another review the current eviction suspension status and fielded a variety of questions on the St. Paul ordinances and COVID-19 related housing issues.
Margaret, who graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2003, has over 20 years of experience in the field of affordable housing and community development in the nonprofit, academic, and government sectors. Margaret was a part of the City of Saint Paul’s Tenant Protection Implementation Committee that was tasked with support, outreach, education and engagement related to the implementation of these new ordinances.
HOME Line has been hosting webinars since mid-April on COVID-19 and how it affects Minnesota landlords and tenants. Over 3,800 tenants, social workers and landlords have watched these live presentations and over 2,200 have watched recorded versions.
Register for our next COVID-19 webinar on 3/24/21: MN Housing overview of new COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance program. We’ll be joined by guest speaker Minnesota Housing Deputy Commissioner Rachel Robinson. Rachel will provide an overview of the upcoming COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance program and process.
