Landlords

Click here for our current list of upcoming trainings. You can learn more and register online.

HOME Line attorneys give trainings to landlord groups throughout Minnesota, covering a wide variety of landlord/tenant law topics.

Although HOME Line is a non-profit designed to work with tenants, we’ve always felt that informed landlords were better landlords. We can’t advise landlords personally, but we can provide trainings for groups of landlords..

Since opening in 1992, HOME Line attorneys have given trainings to landlords all over Minnesota—in 16 different counties. We’ve given over 285 speeches to landlord groups, talking to over 6,800 attendees.

We also offer quarterly introductory trainings on-line for brand new landlords (or people thinking about becoming landlords) who want to understand their rights and responsibilities.

Topics include:

  • Fair Housing Complaints—What Starts Them?
  • The Application Process
  • Leases
  • Evictions
  • Security Deposits
  • When Can a Landlord Enter an Apartment?
  • Repair Issues
  • How to Give a Notice to Vacate

Groups looking for presentations (virtual or in-person) to groups of landlords should look into our rates, explained here, and then submit a form request.
