On May 19th, HOME Line hosted another COVID-19 webinar—the recording is further below. We reviewed the current status of state and federal eviction suspensions, including the recent extension of Minnesota’s suspension, and a discussion of court challenges to the federal CDC order. We were joined by Michael Dahl, HOME Line’s Public Policy Director, who shared recent updates on “off-ramp” discussions following the recent end of the regular MN Legislative session. Additionally, Rachael Sterling, HOME Line’s COVID-19 Eviction Response Coordinator & Housing Attorney, discussed preparation work with courts, attorneys, & other stakeholders that HOME Line has been involved in leading up to end of eviction suspensions. Lastly, we fielded a wide range of questions.
HOME Line has been hosting webinars since mid-April on COVID-19 and how it affects Minnesota landlords and tenants. Over 5,000 tenants, social workers and landlords have watched these live presentations and over 2,500 have watched recorded versions. Consider registering for one of our upcoming webinars:
- 6/9/21 COVID-19 webinar: We expect there will be news on the negotiations over the “off-ramp” bill when we host this webinar, given the timeline that has been set by legislative leadership leading up to a special session in mid-June.
- We expect to schedule more webinars throughout June and into July depending on the eviction suspension off-ramp decision & timeline.
