Recording of 6/10/21 Tenant Organizing Webinar: Organizing in Subsidized Housing

May 27, 2021 by HOME Line Organizing Staff

On Thursday, May 6th HOME Line hosted an online webinar about how renters in subsidized buildings can build power through tenant associations and assert their rights to organize and defend against eviction. We were joined by tenant organizers from Madison Apartments in Minneapolis, Michael Kane from the National Alliance of HUD Tenants, and Dorinda Wider, an attorney from Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid.

Materials from the webinar are available below:
  • Slides: Right to Organize in HUD-Assisted Housing – Texas Tenants’ Union / National Alliance of HUD Tenants
  • Slides: Renters Organizing in Subsidized Housing – Dorinda L. Wider, Attorney at Law, Mid-MN Legal Aid
We hope this training was helpful to you. Please consider giving a tax-deductible donation to support our work.
  • We rely on the support of the community to help us continue to offer trainings and provide free and essential legal advice to tenants who call or email–over 15,000 renter households each year.  Your support to HOME Line assists us in integrating legal services, organizing, and public policy.
