On June 23rd, HOME Line hosted another COVID-19 webinar—the recording is further below. The Minnesota Legislature reconvened for a special legislative session on June 14, 2021 and has made public the language of a possible agreement of an “off-ramp” policy for ending the state eviction suspension. We discussed this news and the language in the bill, despite that it is not yet the law. We also discussed updates on the Federal CDC suspension and took a variety of questions.
HOME Line has been hosting webinars since mid-April on COVID-19 and how it affects Minnesota landlords and tenants. Over 5,000 tenants, social workers and landlords have watched these live presentations and over 2,500 have watched recorded versions. Consider registering for one of our upcoming webinars:
- 6/30/21 COVID-19 webinar: June 30th is both the deadline for the Minnesota Legislature to come up with a budget for the next biennium (beginning on July 1), and was the end of the federal CDC eviction moratorium until it was recently extended on 6/24/21 until 7/31/21. We’ll discuss both of these topics in terms of how it may be impacting any ongoing Minnesota state eviction suspension policy and/or off-ramp. For this webinar we’ll be joined by HOME Line housing attorney Andrea Palumbo and Rachael Sterling, HOME Line’s COVID-19 Eviction Response Coordinator & Housing Attorney.
- 7/7/21 COVID-19 webinar: We’ll plan to discuss any current updates on eviction moratorium phaseout, which is expected to be in effect in July. Depending on the status of that policy along with the extension of the Federal CDC eviction moratorium, we’ll cover how these policies are and will impact tenants. We’ll also leave time for your questions at the end of the session. For this webinar we’ll be joined by HOME Line housing attorney Andrea Palumbo and Rachael Sterling, HOME Line’s COVID-19 Eviction Response Coordinator & Housing Attorney.
