New Tenant/Landlord Laws Passed in 2024

Good news, Minnesota renters! Over the next year, many new tenant protections that HOME Line advocated for at the Minnesota Legislature will become state law. The majority of the policies will become effective on January 1, 2025.

Click here for a brief downloadable/printable summary about these new policies

If you wish to read the legislation yourself, see the tenant/landlord policy language in Minnesota Session Laws 2024 Regular Session, Chapter 118 and Chapter 127, Article 15.

HOME Line is hosting free public education seminars to get the word out about renters’ rights. Below are recordings of past sessions. All webinars include detailed presentations by HOME Line legal staff and guest speakers—and each session will be recorded and available on our website afterwards. We will be applying for CLE credits for each session.
