Andrea Palumbo is a housing attorney at HOME Line. She joined HOME Line in 2019, and her work on HOME Line’s tenant hotline has focused on evictions—she has provided advice to over 2,700 tenants facing eviction through our Eviction Prevention Project. In addition to her eviction work, Andrea advises tenants about their rights regarding security deposit disputes and repairs, among other topics of interest to tenants.
Prior to coming to HOME Line, Andrea was a Self-Help clinic coordinator with Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, where she worked with clients representing themselves in housing expungement and criminal expungement hearings. Before SMRLS Andrea was the Criminal Records Staff Attorney at The Council on Crime and Justice. Andrea’s testimony on the necessity of changing the criminal expungement statute was a key piece of the successful passing of a law that makes getting a second chance a reality for people with criminal records.
Besides her work in landlord/tenant law and criminal expungement, Andrea has also practiced in criminal defense, estate planning, professional license appeals.
Andrea graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in 2009 and Macalester College in 1989.
