Austin (he/him) is a newcomer to both Minnesota and tenant organizing, hailing from East Central Indiana. Austin studied French and Linguistics in college, before completing a Master’s Degree and some Ph.D work in studying communication and labor rhetoric. After leaving academia he joined AmeriCorps VISTA, completing his first service year as Narrative Change Organizer with Minnesota Housing Partnership and his second year as a VISTA Leader with HOME Line. Austin is excited about this new role and the ability to deploy his experience as an educator in service of his newfound community. Austin also enjoys baseball, watching/discussing film, and spending time with his kitties Kate and Talulah.
