Katherine joined HOME Line in 2022 with years of grassroots organizing and as an educator in the health and wellness sector. As a classical Yoga teacher she spent several years working and living in the ancient spiritual ashrams of India ensuring villagers, particularly the elders and school age children, had proper nutrition with ample fresh food and water.
In 2021 Katherine participated as a tenant leader in the St. Paul Rent Stabilization campaign where she felt right at home coordinating, organizing and engaging tenants around the city to engage in the campaign on many levels. She was chosen as a tenant leader to sit on Mayor Carter’s 40 member task force to examine and uphold the particulars of the ordinance. It was implemented in the Spring of 2022.
After a few years of tenant organizing as a volunteer she pursued a full time job at HOME Line joining their organizing team.
Katherine has been able to successfully translate her past experience and skills into a focus of engaging, educating and empowering tenants on an inclusive multicultural level. She particularly emphasizes relationship building and leadership skills to assist tenants in creating and maintaining tenant associations in publicly funded properties to ensure sustainable safe homes that support a life of dignity, connection and purpose.
