Myah is a Tenant Advocate working on the hotline and policy work to serve tenants in Minnesota. She joined HOME Line as a Saeks Public Interest Residency Fellow from the University of Minnesota Law School. Myah will work as a tenant advocate during her third year of law school and continue with HOME Line as an attorney upon completion of her J.D. and passing of the bar in 2025.
Prior to law school, Myah earned her B.A. degrees in Criminology & Criminal Justice and Political Science from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. During that time, she worked as a legal assistant in a family law firm, interned for the St. Louis Public Defender’s Office, and completed a federal judicial externship in the Central District of Illinois. While completing her B.A., Myah also published an article on the use of rap lyrics and music videos in gang crime prosecution.
Myah went to law school in order to serve those people who are underserved by current government systems. During law school, she has worked for The Legal Rights Center in Minneapolis, the Juvenile Law Center in Philadelphia, and continues to do clemency work through the Clemency Project clinic at the University of Minnesota Law School. She looks forward to helping tenants learn their rights, fight for those rights, and ultimately helping to create more equitable housing opportunities across Minnesota.
