We just finished September and are comparing the third quarter of 2023 to the third quarter of 2024. In general, the tenant hotline took more new calls/emails during this time than last year—an 8% increase (5,439 for third quarter, 2024).
Here are the top 10 contact reasons for the last quarter, compared to 2023.

Repair contacts are higher this year than last, even though repair contacts are historically the most common reason tenants contact HOME Line. Three of our four top categories show double-digit percentage increases over 2023’s third quarter. Eviction contacts are the exception and are down compared to 2023, still likely affected by the new 14-day written notice requirement Landlords give before they can file a non-payment of rent eviction.
We continue to see a steady increase in contacts in Spanish, Somali, and Hmong with an 11% increase in contacts in those languages this year versus the third quarter of last year.
