Turn Up the Support for Minnesota Renters

October 6, 2026 by Eric Hauge

Help us raise $20,000 before the end of 2026 so that we can keep serving renters across the state: homelinemn.org/donate

🌡️
October 1 is the start of Minnesota’s heating season.

From October 1 through April 30, Minnesota landlords are required to maintain rental housing at a minimum temperature of 68 degrees.
That wasn’t always the case: HOME Line spent years advocating for a statewide standard because renters should not have different basic protections depending on what city they live in.
But having a law and being able to use that law are two different things. When a renter’s heat isn’t working, HOME Line can help them understand their rights and what steps they can take.
This year, we’re raising $20,000 from individual donors to support HOME Line’s work with Minnesota renters.
🔥 Year end goal: $20,000
