This was our busiest July ever for new calls/emails—we helped 1,794 tenant households throughout Minnesota, eclipsing last July’s 1,775 total. This was our 5th busiest month of all-time for new calls.
Here are the top 10 reasons for calls last month, compared to July, 2023.

Repairs are substantially up over last year’s numbers and appear to be driven largely by a lot of rain throughout the state this summer, leading to a big increase in calls concerning mold. Evictions continue to trail behind last year’s number, again largely due to the new law that went into effect requiring a 14-day warning letter before the landlord is able to file an eviction for non-payment of rent.
Finally, a new stat to share! Last month we advised tenants in 211 different Minnesota cities. Historically, about 20% of our calls come from outside of the 7-county metro area.
