Call Volume and Speech Attendance at Record Numbers

January was our highest new-call volume month in history (2,037 calls), eclipsing August, 2022 (2008 calls)—the only other month we’ve gone over 2,000 new calls in a month.

Here are the top 10 call reasons in January:

Evictions remained at the top spot, which has been true for several months. As mentioned in past newsletters, that’s not normal. Repairs have historically been the hotline’s leading reason for calls.  Here’s a chart that shows how eviction calls have built up over the last 12 months:

Speeches:

HOME Line has been making presentations since 1992, explaining landlord/tenant law to a wide variety of audiences, and we just hit a major milestone—75,000 attendees!

We’ve given 2,471 speeches since opening, in 36 different counties all over Minnesota to a wide variety of audiences. Here’s a partial list of the types of audiences we’ve been asked to present to:
