Record Pace for the Hotline Despite August Dip

September 7, 2025 by Mike Vraa Leave a Comment

We had a slight decrease in contacts (calls and emails) to the tenant hotline in August 2025 compared to August 2024—6% fewer calls. This comes right after the busiest month on record for new calls. Why did the numbers go down? It’s hard to say for sure, but we “lost” the last two days of August, which fell on a Saturday and Sunday. Those are typically among our busiest days of the year, as tenants move out and new tenants plan to move in. Since we were closed that weekend, the timing may have significantly affected the monthly totals.

We remain on a record pace for new contacts through the end of August—up 4% over last year’s total and 1% above 2023’s record-setting performance.

Here are the top 10 reasons tenants contacted us in August 2025 compared to
August, 2024.

Calls from renters seeking financial assistance continue to rise this year, as economic conditions appear to be worsening for many Minnesota tenants.
