We received 1,854 new contacts (emails plus calls) to the tenant hotline in August, a 2% increase over last August. Our total contacts (new plus follow-ups) were up even more—11% over last August with 3,533 total contacts. We remain on pace to surpass last year’s numbers, with new contacts up over 8% and total contacts up over 12% for this calendar year.

Repairs reclaimed the top spot from evictions, though both remain on pace for very high numbers of contacts to our hotline this year. Several topics saw increases greater than 15% over last August: lease questions, break lease issues, financial aid, fees, and neighbor issues all surged.
